"Grand" Opening, December 2, 2005
Photos by David Salcido & Todd Rakstad

Soul Invictus officially launched with a short, but spirited performance by firespinning poi dancers Breath Of Fire, then brought it indoors, where Tristan Gregoire serenaded the crowd while they perused the works of guest artist Regan Mendenhall. Then began the body painting. The theme, this month, was the five elements: earth, air, fire, water and spirit. The boys went first, then took a break while exotic dance troup Anaya Tribal Fusion entertained the Friday night crowd. Then it was the girl's turn, while Jesse Young set the mood with his 200-year-old fiddle. A photo shoot rounded off the body painting portion of the evening, followed by a rousing set by tranny punk cover band, the Insignificant Others.
